People often don’t recognize the gravity of having security issues until a major incident actually occurs. Not taking care of your workers also casts a negative light on your company as a whole. Both the general public and your investors will see it as a reason to find faults and criticize your conduct, thereby leading you to lose credibility and even market share to your direct competitors. Over time, the problem could be so difficult to get rid of that you won’t be able to completely solve it regardless of how much money you throw at it. In contrast, you could have easily implemented proper safety procedures, bought quality light weight ladders and other devices as well as provided guidance to your workers for much less total costs, and without losing your company’s reputation in the process.
As you can see, worker safety must be one of your priorities regardless of what kind of business you operate. A failure to stick to decent guidelines will lead you to further issues that could have no immediate solution, thereby eroding at your company’s reputation and credibility until it finally closes its doors.
